What is your vision of the future of the golf courses? do you favor the agreement to reserve a group of tee times to a casino to reduce dependence on residents to fund the courses?

If it is true as has been said, and the POA does not own the Golf Courses, are you going to maintain them with our money or not?.I hope the answer is NOT!

I have been here a long time and never heard anyone say the golf courses were owned by any group other that the members, I. e. the POA. What is your source?

To clarify the above, members was meant to be POA members, not just golf members. All residents are POA members, provided they pay their dues, and thus have an ownership share of all amenities. At least that is what I have believed and been told for 20 years.

It has been posted here that Purcell owns the Golf Courses and Country Club..if that is true, then our money should not be wasted on them.

I will wait to hear from a little more definitive source than hearsay before I believe that. What does our new President say? I thought this was the forum to ask him questions.

It is, ask him if the POA has a deed in their name for the Golf Courses and Country Club.

It has been stated on this forum that Purcell holds the deeds..Ken from DH posted that along with some others…

The story I get is that the Tax Assessor for Hancock County made a mistake on his maps and included the courses in Purcell holdings. The golf courses were deeded to the POA in the mid 80s and such is clearly recorded at the Hancock County Courthouse. This came from a former POA President (not Marshall Kyger)

That’s like believing the quote: “There is not one smidgen of corruption” Who has them if they exist? Our lawyer, if so that’s comforting isn’t it, On file in the POA offices? or are they in a deposit box in Florida or some place closer with maybe just one key? If they are deeded to the POA all members have a right to know their status and location. It should not be so concealed and hidden an issue. Hopefully the new Administration can clear up this mystery and if the Deeds exist get them into a local Bank deposit box under their control or in a safe in the POA if they are not there already.

One of the many things I love about this country is that anyone can believe, and speak, just about anything they want to. I am satisfied that the POA owns the golf courses. If you are not, so be it……Why don’t you go to the courthouse and look it up? Next issue….. and speaking of openness, When will the new President answer my initial question as to his vision for the golf courses? Again, I thought this was his open forum to the members.

I see we have a couple of smart people on here..Thanks for the sarcasm, Mr King., and FCC…IF you read my posts again, with an open mind, you will see that it isn’t a great concern to me, as I was only repeating what I read here…don’t get your panties in a wad,ok?

I know I hit a little strong at times on relatively minor seemingly topics, the purpose is to stimulate thought and have others contribute their reasoning on the issues. Deeds to the Golf Courses ect. why is that so important? If the properties have been deeded to the POA I would like to know what was conveyed, are there any encumbrances on the deeds, Does the POA have a clear merchantable title? Who knows, no one has seen or read a Deed to my knowledge. The word “Conveyed” is one manner of broad transfer, however the Deed will show if there are “conditions” to the conveyance like any conditions or acts that might cause a reversal of ownership, like conditions relating to use, violations of use concerning occupation or new construction on vacant land, or enlargement of buildings. Any way, I think so for now and would just like to read the deed..
